Gary L. Bryson, 78

Gary L. Bryson, 78, of Harlan, Indiana passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Gary was born August 28, 1946, in Shelbyville, Illinois, son of the late Orvel and Dorothy (Griffith) Bryson. After graduation, Gary proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Germany, from December 28, 1965, until his honorable discharge on August 22, 1967. Gary married Susan I. Inlow on July 14, 1968, and they were happily married for 56 years. He worked at Grabill Cabinets, Sheller Globe and International Harvester. Gary was a talented woodworker and handyman, building their family house. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia.

Surviving is his wife, Susan Bryson of Harlan, Indiana; two children, Michelle (Sanjay) Iyer of Aurora, Illinois, and Gregg (Chris) Bryson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two grandchildren, Joshua Iyer and Shaelyn Iyer, two sisters, Betty Reese, and Linda Lewis. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Visitation for Gary will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 N. Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral services will immediately begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Earl Bercot officiating. Interment will follow in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, Indiana with military rites accorded by combined honor guard, Hicksville American Legion Post 223, Sherwood VFW.
