Gerald Wayne Foust, 70 years, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 in his residence. He was born June 15, 1950 in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of the late Donald J. and Mary E. (Carey) Foust. Gerald was a 1968 graduate of Fairview High School and he received a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in Education. He married Carolynne Kay Clappe on August 11, 1973 in Bryan, Ohio. He was an elementary teacher at Farmer Elementary School for 30 years, teaching 5th and 6th grades. Gerald enjoyed fishing, hunting, flower gardening with his wife, Carolynne and traveling to Florida. He enjoyed spending time with his children and granddaughters.
Gerald is survived by his two children, Curt (Amy) Foust of Bowling Green, Ohio and Courtney (Gabor) Hodacs of Cumming, Georgia; two grandchildren, Reid Caroline Foust and Quinn Diane Foust; two sisters, Wendy (Denny) Hammond of Hicksville, Ohio and Donna (Richard) Painter of Waynesville, Ohio; five nieces, Kelly (Kyle) Wonderly, Megan Clappe, Whitney (Nate) Clappe-Utesch, Lindsay Olix, Ashleigh (Carrie Houts) Olix; four nephews, Daniel (Rebekah) Painter, Justin (Terri) Olix, Wesley Clappe, and Vincent Clappe. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolynne and infant brother, Darl Foust.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, private graveside services will be held at Fountain Grove Cemetery. A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn St, Bryan.
The family ask those remembering Gerald to make memorial contributions to Friends of Harrison Lake State Park or Youth Anglers of Ohio.
