Geraldine G. Lewis, 96 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier. Geraldine was born August 5, 1919 in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of the late Sherman and Mary (Buckley) Jones. She married Herbert B. Lewis on September 3, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1996. Geraldine was employed by the Bryan Times Newspaper, working in the mailroom. She had also worked at Ohio Art and the former Ruth’s Restaurant as a waitress. She attended the Bryan First Church of Christ. Geraldine enjoyed taking car rides, taking in the scenery as she went. She also enjoyed visiting historical sites.
Surviving are her two sons, Ronald (Linda) Lewis of Bryan and Donald (Judy) Lewis of Leesburg, Florida; two grandchildren, Debbie (Kevin) Nelson and Danielle Strouse; three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herbert and nine siblings.
There will be no visitation and private graveside services will be held in Shiffler Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home.
