Germaine “Gerry” C. Miller, 98 years, of Blacklick, Ohio, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Gerry was born April 23, 1916 in Woodburn, Indiana, the daughter of the late Edward and Sidonie (Deconinck) Deneve. She married Kenneth Charles Miller on July 15, 1938, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1989. Gerry and Kenneth were the owners of the former Miller’s Moving & Storage in Bryan, opening the business in 1950 until they sold the business in 1970. She was a member of the Bryan First Church of Christ as well as the Senior Saints Ministry at church. Gerry moved from Bryan to live with her daughter Barbara in 2003.
Surviving are her three children, William Miller of Charleston, South Carolina, Barbara Miller of Blacklick, Ohio and Diane Miller and her husband, Russell Mitchell, of Lewis Center, Ohio; two grandchildren, Tom Miller of Charleston, South Carolina and Betsy (Paul) Thompson of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, one son, Russell Miller, one sister, Laura Gershbein and two brothers, Frank Deneve and Alphonse “Al” Deneve.
Friends will be received in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan on Friday, January 16, 2015 beginning at 12:00 noon where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Friday with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio.
