Gladys M. Moog, 88 of Montpelier passed away Tuesday evening at Evergreen Health Center in Montpelier. She was born on March 29, 1932 in Morenci, Michigan to Lloyd F. and Corretta (Turner) Wilcox. At one time Gladys worked at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, prior to that she worked at Rice’s Truck Stop in Fayette as a waitress. She at one time loved to read and crochet.
Gladys will be great missed by her friends and her family. She is survived by her children, G. Marie (Rickey) Hicks of Montpelier, Sharon L. Westendorf of Jaynesville, Wisconsin, Mary Ann McClain of Holland, Ohio, Robert DeWitt of Wisconsin and Ronald (Jane Huffman) DeWitt of Bryan; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; a sister Irene Sterling of Adrian, Michigan.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Marion DeWitt and Henry “Hank” Moog, son Kenneth DeWitt, two infant children, great grandson Noah Tompkins and two sisters Lillion Rice and Florence Miller.
Gladys will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. A time to receive friends will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Evergreen Health Center Activity Fund.
