Glenn “Butch” Vernon Morris, 73

Glenn “Butch” Vernon Morris, 73, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at his home with his loving wife and daughter by his side.  Butch was born August 7, 1948, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Vernon W. and Julia E. (Sigler) Morris.  He attended Hicksville High School, and then enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1968 – 1972.  Butch married the love of his life, Gladys V. Ahrens on August 25, 1988, in Hicksville, Ohio.  Butch was an avid collector.  He truly loved just cruising all over.  Gladys took him on his last cruise Saturday, October 16, 2021, when she brought him home from the hospital.  But his passion was going to the casino to gamble.

Butch is survived by his loving wife, Gladys V. Morris of Napoleon, Ohio; his daughter he adored, Alison (Michael) Lacy of Houston, Texas; his son, that he missed, Tony (Sabrina) Morris of White Pigeon, Michigan; one grandson, Sean Lacy of Houston, Texas; three granddaughters, Caitlin and Emma June of Houston, Texas, Avrianna Bergan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Lacy of Houston, Texas; three nieces and four nephews, Beth (Rick) Knight, Tannie Marie Rothgeb, Julie Ann (Del) Pask, Scott McClish, Brian (Chrissy) McClish, Jimmy (Heather) Rothgeb, Jeremy (Amie) Howard; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.  Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Julia Morris; his first wife, Janet (Hewitt) Morris; three sisters, Sharon McClish, Tannie Rothgeb and Nancy Howard; one daughter, Myraha Morris; one granddaughter, Anastazia Cook; one grandson, Logan Cook; one niece, Sherrie (McClish) Boyd; and one nephew, Kirk McClish.

Visitation for Glenn “Butch” Vernon Morris will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Celebrant Patricia Peter officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Hicksville American Legion Post 223.
