Glenn Whitson, 85

Glenn Spencer Whitson, age 85, of Edon, Ohio, passed away in his residence at 1:46 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013. Mr. Whitson retired as an Inspector at Dana Corporation. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served at the end of World War II as a Navy Corpsman.

Glenn Spencer Whitson was born on March 5, 1928, in Hillsdale, Michigan, the son of Hugh W. and Hazel (Spencer) Whitson. Glenn is survived by his children, Christopher Whitson, of Coldwater, Michigan, Patricia (Ralph) Smith, of Edon, Susan Whitson, of Bend, Oregon and Joan Whitson, of Edon; eight grandchildren, Christopher Whitson, Justin Whitson, Cecilia (Andrew) Purkeypile, Dustyn Whitson, Jessica Whitson, Alisun Smith, Teresa (Jody) Fransted and Kimberly Smith and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Hugh and George Whitson and sisters, Susan Arnold and Mary Ellen Baker.

Graveside services for Glenn Spencer Whitson will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale, Michigan. Graveside military rites will be provided by Hillsdale American Legion Post #53. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio.

Memorials in the name of Glenn Spencer Whitson may be given to an organization of the donor’s choice.
