Counting the homeless in northwest Ohio is happening on January 26th. Two local organizations are taking part in the annual point-in-time count. The count is happening across the Buckeye state to monitor the numbers, support efforts to meet their needs and raise awareness of homelessness. The groups are looking for volunteers to help collect information from service providers, schools, health care facilities and others to identify individuals and families who are homeless during the count. Volunteers also are needed to go out and do physical searches for homeless individuals. Those interested in volunteering should contact Rau at 419–782-6962 or at mrau@nocac.org.
