Harold Robert “Bob” Bunting, 74

Harold Robert “Bob” Bunting, age 74, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 4:44 P.M. on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Edgerton, Mr. Bunting was a 1962 graduate of Edgerton High School and went to work at the Uniroyal/Goodrich tire plant in New Haven, Indiana, on September 6, 1962, and retired on April 1, 2011, with forty-eight years of service to the company. In his community he had served as a reserve police officer and helped with the local Boy Scout troop. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and a gun enthusiast and enjoyed woodworking.

Harold Robert Bunting was born on July 31, 1944, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of Harold Wendell and Dora Eileen (Miller) Bunting. He married Carole A. Gerry on May 18, 1963, in Edgerton and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Karen Kay Bunting, of Edgerton; one son, Dr. Darrin R. (Erin) Bunting, of Huron, Ohio; two grandsons, Samuel Robert Bunting, of Chicago, Illinois, and Leo Gilbert (Laura) Bunting, with the United States Air Force, stationed in London, England; two brothers, Jerry (Carol) Bunting, of Edgerton, and Larry (DiAnn) Bunting, of Pioneer, Ohio; four nieces, Taylor and Morgan Bunting, Jackie (Mike) Whitman, and Jennifer (Joe) Cox; and one nephew, Joey Billian. He was preceded in death by his father in 1990 and his mother in 2008; his father and mother-in-law, Lewis Gerry and Hazel Gerry Doster; and his brother-in-law, James “Jim” Gerry, in 2000.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Service will follow at 1:30 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Byron Adams officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
