Helen Louise Ryan, age 79, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:15 P.M. on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Dream Haven in Edgerton, where she was a resident, after a sudden illness. Mrs. Ryan was born and raised in the Edgerton area and was a 1952 graduate of Edgerton High School. She was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending the Edgerton Senior Center, where she would entertain by playing the piano. She also was an accordion player. Her family thought of her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Helen Louise Ryan was born on March 24, 1934, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Earl and Lizzie (Luke) Landel. She married Pat Ryan on November 16, 1954, in Angola, Indiana, and he survives. During their married life, Helen and Pat spent many years away from Edgerton, moving to and living in every state, with the exception of Hawaii, with his work. They returned to Edgerton sixteen years ago to retire. Survivors also include one daughter, JoElla Ryan, and one son, Gregory Lynn (Marlene) Ryan, both of Beaumont, California, one granddaughter, Nikki Ryan, of San Bernardino, California, two great-grandchildren, Katie and Julian Ruiz, also of San Bernardino, two brothers, Frederick Landel and Donald (Donna) Landel, both of Edgerton, and two sisters, Virginia (Dave) Sheets, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Nancy (Roger) Haymond, of Clearwater, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Services will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend R.L. Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Dream Haven in Edgerton.
