Helen L. Pence, age 93, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:15 A.M. on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Dream Haven Assisted Living in Edgerton, Ohio, where she was a resident, after a brief illness. Mrs. Pence was a 1938 graduate of Garrett High School in Garrett, Indiana, and was owner and operator of Pence’s Concessions from 1948-2006, where she enjoyed working and meeting people throughout the tri-state area. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Asbury United Methodist Church in Williams Center, Ohio.
Helen L. Pence was born on February 2, 1920, in Garrett, Indiana, the daughter of Clyde and Clara (Grieske) Ervin.
Survivors include one daughter, Anita (Edward) Nicholas, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sons, Michael (Etta) Pence, of Edgerton, and Kevin Pence, of Bryan; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Pence, two brothers, Charles and Paul Ervin, and a sister, Marie Sapp.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Private grave side services will take place in Williams Center Cemetery with Reverend Grant T. Nicholls officiating.
Memorials are requested to Asbury United Methodist Church in Williams Center.
