Hicksville man gets long prison term in child sex case

A local man con­victed of child sex­ual abuse was sen­tenced to a long prison term in Defi­ance County Com­mon Pleas Court. Tony Camp­bell, 45, Hicksville, was given a 14-year term by Judge Joseph Schmenk on charges of rape, a first-degree felony; and attempted rape, a second-degree felony. He faced life in prison on a sec­ond count of rape, but that charge was dis­missed. His vic­tim was about 7 years old at the time of the first incident.
