Jack A. Dean, 91

Jack Dean, age 91, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Jack retired from Aro Corporation after 41 years of service.  He was a proud US Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Edon American Legion Post 662.  Jack enjoyed bowling when he was younger and was an avid sports fan.  He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Ohio State Buckeyes.  He was acknowledged as the Edon Bombers #1 Fan.  He served on the honor guard to raise and lower the American flag at Bomber sporting events and enjoyed watching all the high school teams play.

Jack was born on September 16, 1932 in Metz, Indian, the son of Harold E. and Mary Margaret (Bauer) Dean. He married Dawn M. Kurtz in 1976 and she survives.

Jack is also survived by his children, Jackie (Chris) Walls, of Coldwater, Connie Dean, of Montpelier, Misty (Curt) Mason and Shawn Dean, both of Edon; 4 grandchildren, Stacy Lowinski, of Coldwater, David (Addie) Ackley, of McLeansville, North Carolina, Shalyn Mason, of Edon and Alayna Dean, of Hamilton, Indiana; 4 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sherrie Kaiser.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Deb Widdowson officiating.   Burial will follow at Edon Cemetery with grave side military rites presented by the US Navy Honor Guard and American Legion Post 662 Honor Detail.

Memorial donations may be made out to the Edon Athletic Boosters.
