James Lee Huffman, 81

James Lee Huffman, age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance. He was a lifelong carpenter, working for Struble & Sons Construction for over 38 years and did some carpenter work for H.C. Votaw Construction in Pioneer. Later, he worked at Bryan Building Center for 14 years and also did private carpentry work during this time. James was one of the few dependable carpenters that helped construct homes for Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

James was born June 13, 1933, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Robert Earl and Helen Marie (Castor) Huffman. He was a 1951 graduate of Bryan High School.

James is survived by his sister, Mary Lou (James) Davis, of Bryan; brother, David J. (Eileen) Stough, of Ridgeville Corners; nieces, Pamela (Tim) Castor, Jill N. Miller, of Bryan and Julie K. Davis, of Dayton; great nieces, Kimberly A. and Rebecca P. Miller, both of Bryan and great nephews, Gregory R. (Christina) Castor, of Columbus, Ohio and Thomas S. (Annalise) Castor, of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Mr. Huffman’s wishes were that no visitation of services be held. A private committal at Williams Center Cemetery will take place at a later date. Krill Funeral Service in Bryan has been entrusted with James’ arrangements.
