James R. Joseph, 74

James R. Joseph, 74 years, of Bryan, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jim was born September 1, 1942, in Fremont, Ohio the son of the late, Charles and Janet (Chapman) Joseph. He was a 1960 graduate of Green Springs High School, and he continued his education at Michigan State University where he obtained a bachelors degree in Forestry. Jim then earned a masters degree from Bowling Green State University in Business Administration. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era as a First Lieutenant. Jim married Eldora “Dorie” Bockover on August 25, 1973 in Bryan, Ohio. He worked in livestock feed sales at Kalmbach feeds and the Edon Farmer Co-op. Jim previously worked at Moorman Manufacturing as a District Manager. In his free time, Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his family especially watching his grandchildren compete in sports. Jim loved his Chocolate Lab, Buddy and considered him part of the family.

Surviving is his wife, Eldora “Dorie” Joseph, of Bryan, Ohio; three children, Scott (Candi) Joseph of Powell, Ohio, Steve Joseph of Bryan, Ohio and Toni (Mike Johnson) of Bryan, Ohio; Six Grandchildren, Luke Joseph, Noah Joseph, Brody Gonzales, Marissa Gonzales, Matthew Johnson, and Wyatt Johnson; two brothers, William (Deb) Joseph of Toledo, Ohio and Thomas (Carol) Joseph of Findlay, Ohio. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and step-father, Lawrence Joseph.

Visitation for James R. Joseph will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral Services for James will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Ted Mathes officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan. Military Graveside Rites performed by the Bryan VFW Post 2489.
