Janis M. Richer, age 73, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Toledo Hospital. Mrs. Richer worked as an Assistant Manager at Big Lots in Wauseon for many years. She enjoyed reading, walking, garage sales, camping and traveling to many areas, especially National Parks.
Janis was born on July 15, 1943 in Wauseon, Ohio to Samuel D. and Marion J.(Robinson) DeWitt. She was a graduate of Fayette High School. Janis married her high school sweetheart, Nelson L. Richer in 1962 an they had 53 years together. He survives in Wauseon.
Janis is also survived by two sons, Gary Richer, of Wauseon and Mark (Gene) Richer, of Arvada, Colorado; her daughter, Michelle (Mark) Richer-Mengerink, of Beaumont, Texas; a granddaughter, Kayla Richer, of Arvada, Colorado; sister-in-law, Jackie DeWitt, of Williams Center and her beloved dog, Sammie. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry DeWitt.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at Williams Center Cemetery with Rev. Sam Buehrer officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio.
