Jean Ann Bittinger, 65 years, of Bryan, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Jean was born July 18, 1952 in Bowling Green, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Lillian (McLain) Perkins. She was a 1970 graduate of Napoleon, High School. She married Frederick Bittinger on March 29, 1980 in West Unity, Ohio and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2005. Jean was a devoted wife and mother, who sought to help others. She was a member of Grace Community Church, Bryan, where she was the leader of the Toy Drive each year. Jean enjoyed watching television, especially the Animal Planet, gardening and loved animals, especially her dog, Butter Cup.
Surviving are her two children, Sara (Eric) Jensen of Liberty Center, Ohio and Julian “Jake” (Bonnie) Bittinger of Napoleon; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Armstrong of McClure, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frederick.
Memorial services for Jean Ann Bittinger will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at Grace Community Church, 206 Bement Street, Bryan with Pastors Nate Petrosky and Mike Kelly officiating. Private interment will be made in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan.
