Jerry L. Cover, 76

Jerry L. Cover, 76, of Hicksville, Ohio, peacefully passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, in his residence.  He was born June 28, 1945 in Antwerp, Ohio, the son of the late Ernest H. and Ila (Fenton) Cover.  Jerry was a 1963 graduate of Hicksville High School.  He married Lillie Baker on July 10, 1965, in Lost Creek, Kentucky, and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2014.  Jerry worked as a laborer at Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne, Indiana, retiring in 2008 after 30+ years of service.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Antwerp (Ohio).  In his free time, Jerry enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors.  Above all, Jerry cherished the time spent with his family, especially the time spent supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events.

Jerry is survived by his two sons, Rod (Christine) Cover of Hicksville, Ohio, and Jeff (Tammy) Cover of Auburn, Indiana; six grandchildren, Joshua Cover, Brandon (Amy) Cover, Eric (Paige) Cover, Marissa Cover, Emma Cover, and Shelby Cover; nine great-grandchildren, Ketson, Karris, Grant, Griffin, Dax, Dawson, Makenleigh, Maxton, and Madison Lillie; and one brother, Donald Cover of Bryan, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Lillie Cover; one grandson, Jacob Allen Cover; and one sister, Margaret Colby.

Visitation for Jerry L. Cover will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.  Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 13, 2022, in the funeral home, with visitation starting one hour prior at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
