John F. Studer, 88

John F. Studer, age 88, of Coldwater, Michigan, died at 1:53 A.M. on September 18, 2017, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater, where he was a resident. Mr. Studer was a 1947 graduate of Edgerton High School and had been employed as a tool and die maker for Bryan Custom Plastics for twenty-six years and would later go to work for Mark I Plastics until his retirement. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Coldwater, Michigan, was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio, was a member of the Coldwater Knights of Columbus, the Fremont, Indiana, American Legion and the Fremont Moose Lodge. He was an avid bowler, bowling well into his 80s, and was an avid fisherman. John also enjoyed hunting mushrooms, snowmobiling and boating on the lake. He also loved to travel and be around the lake.

John F. Studer was born on November 29, 1928, in Edgerton, Ohio, the son of Raymond John and Gertrude (Kimpel) Studer. He married Mary L. Dohner on July 26, 1947, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on December 2, 2009.

Survivors include his children, Jo (John) Armbruster, of Edon, Ohio, Kevin (Suzie) Studer, of Edgerton, Ohio, Jean Studer, of Edon, Ohio, Christine (Roland) Rohdy, of Hicksville, Ohio, and Darrell Studer, of Hillsdale, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clair (Linda) Studer, of Edgerton, and George (LaVon) Studer, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two sisters, Carol Buss, of Auburn, Indiana, and Margaret Claxton, of Edgerton; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Studer, of Stryker, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James and Philip Studer; one brother, Alfred Studer; two brothers-in-law, James Buss and Robert Claxton; and a daughter-in-law, Pat Studer.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, followed by recitation of the rosary at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral. Services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Daniel Borgelt officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton.

Memorials are requested to St. Mary Catholic School or the Edgerton Fire Department.
