John M. Crites, Jr., age 72, of Taylor, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center near Defiance following a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Crites was an independent, owner-operator truck driver for many years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and driving truck.
Born September 23, 1944 in Richland Township, Defiance County, Ohio, he was the son of John M. and Freda M. (Hammersmith) Crites, Sr. John is survived by his children, Cletus (Michelle) Crites, of Haskins, SGM Lamar (Eydie) Crites, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Martha (James) Jones, of Bryan and Amy (Randy Fielitz) Crites, of Lake Seneca; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; bothers, Doug, Kenny, Charles, Bill (Kathy) and Bob (Tabitha) Crites and sisters, Deb (Bill) Grant and Sue (Bob) Arend. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Darrel and Keith Crites and daughter-in-law, Alba Crites.
In accordance with John’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
