Joyce A. Apple, 88, of Alvordton, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold, Ohio. Joyce was born March 2, 1934, in Ossian, Indiana, daughter of the late Vern and Wanda (Gibson) Frederick She married Richard G. Apple on October 28, 1950, in Bulter, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2020. Joyce previously worked at Sauder Manufacturing, Saneholtz McKarns, and Fayette Tubular. She was an active member of the Church of Christ at West Unity and was a former 4-H advisor. Joyce was a loving mom and grandma, always supporting her children and grandchildren. She cherished the time she spent with her family and the memories they made. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed going to garage sales, vegetable gardening and spending time outdoors.
Surviving are her four children, Cindy (Rob) Heller of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dave Apple of Montpelier, Ohio, Connie (Kent) Landis of Waldron, Michigan, and Sandy (Troy) Carpenter of Alvordton, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Goff, and Becky Fischer; three brothers, Kent (Marilyn) Burkhead, Randy (Deb) Frederick and Doug (Claudia) Frederick. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; two children, Sheryl Snow and Ronald Apple; three great-grandchildren, Chase Adams, Selah Apple, and Benten Carpenter; daughter-in-law, Sherry Apple; son-in-law, Larry Snow.
Visitation for Joyce will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 10:00-12:00 noon at the Church of Christ at West Unity, 1205 W. Jackson Street, West Unity, Ohio with funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon in the church. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Alvordton. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity, Ohio.
