Joyce A. March Schilt, 85 of Van Wert and formerly of Paulding, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Vancrest of Van Wert, with her family at her side. Joyce was born August 2, 1939, in Paulding, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald O. and Jennie (Fitzwater) March. She was a 1959 graduate of Ayersville High School. She was a clerk for McDonald’s in Paulding for 10 years. Prior to this, she had worked for Red Angel Pizza in Paulding. She was a member of the Paulding Eagles Aerie 2405. Joyce had a passion for tending to her flower gardens, working jigsaw puzzles, finding treasures at garage sales, and collecting teddy bears.

Surviving are her daughters, Anna (Vincent) Kroterfield of Van Wert, Ohio, and Norma Jean (Brian) Heitzmann of Bryan; two grandchildren, Eric Smith, and Faith Graves; three sisters, Gladys Reinhart of Wauseon, Ohio, Helen Frusher of Findlay, Ohio, and Evelyn Baker of Defiance, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Donald March, Robert March, Paul March, Gerald “Bud” March, and Richard “Dick” March; two sisters, Vivien Ditto and Ruth Cross.

To honor Joyce request, she will be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the family.
