Joyce A. Nichols, age 75, of Auburn, Indiana, died at 8:27 P.M. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after an extended illness. Mrs. Nichols was a lifelong resident of Wauseon, Ohio, and retired from Haas Door Company in Wauseon. She was known to be an excellent seamstress and enjoyed attending tractor shows with her husband and riding in the Gator and in the Camaro with the top down.
Joyce A. Nichols was born on October 9, 1942, in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of Dale Willard and Carrie Mae (Avery) Hartman. She married Ivan J. Nichols on March 18, 2000, in Angola, Indiana, and he survives.
Survivors also include one son, Rick (Melinda) Loomer, and one daughter, Laura (Ken) Carlin, both in Missouri; five grandchildren, Brad, Austin and Corey Loomer and Cody and Kaylee Carlin; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lou, in Florida; and her stepchildren, Beverly Sidle, Patsy Hetrick and Ivan, Winston and Warren Nichols. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Leann.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will follow at 12:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor David Oliphant officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date.
