Judith “Judy” A. Moore, 83, of Bryan, passed away on Friday July 15, 2016 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. She was born on December 21, 1932 in Montpelier to Rufus P. and Kathryn A. (Wineland) McKarns. Judy graduated from Montpelier High School. On June 22, 1952 she married Loren W. Moore at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier.
Judy was a loving wife and mother. She had a deep appreciation for her family farm where she raised her children. Judy had a soft spot for her grandchildren and loved her pet cats. She was an avid reader who loved music, crossword puzzles, watching T.V., traveling and camping with her family. She briefly worked at Miller’s New Market in Montpelier and at the Bryan Times. Judy was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier and the Mother of Twins Club.
Judy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Loren W. Moore of Bryan; two daughters, Patti Dennis (Harvey Nichols) and Penny Lahman both of Bryan; and two grandchildren, Jaime Dennis (Coley Rau) of Clear Lake, Indiana and Jon Lahman of Bryan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Eric and two brothers, John and Richard McKarns.
A visitation will take place for Judy on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 10-11:30 am at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 11:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Blank to officiate. Interment will follow at Shiffler Cemetery in Bryan. Donations may be made to the Williams County Humane Society.
