Judith Marie Koerner, age 76, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 9:43 P.M. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy was a graduate of Cottage Grove High School in Cottage Grove, Oregon, and attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary, graduating in 1964, where she met her future husband, Roy Koerner. Roy and Judy moved to Edgerton to settle in 1979. She was employed by the Bryan Medical Group, retiring with twenty-five years of service. Judy enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society, quilting and her herb garden and also had a love of music and was a member of the Madrigal Singers for a number of years. Most of all she was an active member of her neighborhood and the community and also was thoroughly devoted to her daughters and their children as she traveled to all of their events through the years.
Judith Marie Koerner was born on November 21, 1940, in Eugene Oregon, the daughter of Donald and Etta Marie (Volgamore) Brady. She married Roy Koerner on June 16, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and they have been devoted to each other for fifty-five years.
Survivors also include three daughters, Tina (Mark) Hines, of St. John, Indiana, Tangi (Gary) Angel, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Taryn (Jesse) Chula, of Lexington, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Michael, Abigail, Landen, Kerner, Skylar, Taytum, Ledger and Judah; two brothers, Jim (Rosemary) Brady, of Springfield, Oregon, and Mike Suter, of Eugene, Oregon; one sister, Sandra Sutter, of Portland, Oregon; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Troy Koerner.
The family will receive visitors in the Bryan First Church of Christ on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Services celebrating the life of Judith Marie Koerner will follow at 6:15 P.M. in the church with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Following the service all are invited to a pie reception in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
