The newlyweds immediately moved back to Hicksville to start a new life. Judy was a devoted mother and homemaker for the first few years in Hicksville, helping out at the schools and other community functions. She and Bob were active members of the First Church of Christ a passion that continues to this day. Later, after her two oldest sons, Todd and Heath, were in school. Judy, with the help and support of Bob, decided to follow her entrepreneurial spirit and open a small local health food store called The Vitamin and Herb Shop in 1981. Shortly after starting this venture, her third son, Appollo, was born and she found herself being both a business owner and mother to a newborn, a challenge she handled with ease. Judy’s sage advice and extensive knowledge of holistic health was revolutionary for the time. Being a certified Iridolgist (eye reading), she attracted clients from across the country and the world. Helping countless people live their best and healthiest life for well over 30 years.
Judy was a true animal lover. She treated her pets as family a constant companion both at home and while traveling from Peewee to Johnny with many others in between. Her love for her animals was part of who she was.
She was also a traveler at heart and enjoyed adventures across the United States with her family visiting numerous national parks and all 50 states on multiple vacations and trips. She also spearheaded multiple camping, canoeing, and rafting trips. On a side note, Judy and Bob’s world-famous homemade campsite onion rings were always a camp favorite. Above all, Judy cherished spending time with her family and friends.
