Karen Lynn Handley, born on January 27, 1964, to Claude Hohman and Mary Coleman, passed away on July 13, 2024. Karen’s life was a testament to love and joy, with her world revolving around her cherished grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy. She had a special bond with animals, especially her beloved pets, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as camping, diamond painting, playing poker, and raising chickens and ducks. Her hobbies reflected her vibrant personality and her appreciation for nature’s beauty and life’s little moments.
Karen’s family will forever miss her infectious happiness and the way she could light up any room with her presence. She had a remarkable ability to capture everyone’s attention with her warm and engaging personality. Karen’s caring and loving nature touched the hearts of all who knew her, leaving a lasting impact that will be fondly remembered.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Handley; sons, Jason C. Persinger, Brian J. (fiancé Alex) Persinger; daughters, Bobbie L. (Eric) Sherman, Jeanette A. (Chris) Cooper; grandkids, Timothy, Chloe, Cameron, Ian, and Chase; sisters, Kimberly (John) Schwalenberg, Kelly (Chuck) Rapp, Kristin (Rodger) Schubach; brother, Claude Hohman Jr.; many nieces and nephews; cat, Cali; and dogs, Deuce and Coco. Karen is preceded in death by her parents and niece April (Little) Barchus. Her legacy of love, joy, and kindness will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends, who will forever hold her in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 P.M. at Green Springs VFW Post 6067.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family, who will direct them to Green Springs Shelter.
