Karen S. Moriarity, age 63, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away at 11:42 P.M. on Monday, September 5, 2022, at the Toledo Hospital. Karen was a homemaker. She loved animals, and was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed watching her shows, especially The Golden Girls. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she always worried about all her family texting them multiple times a day just to see if they were okay.
Karen was born on June 4, 1959 in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Willie and Oma (Wheeler) Patrick. She married Kevin Sharp on August 15, 1979 and that union ended in divorce. She later married Larry Moriarity on August 2, 2006 in Huntington, Indiana and he survives.
Karen is also survived by her daughter, Joy (Luke Clees) Hulse; son, Kevin Sharp, Jr, both of Defiance; grandchildren, Alexander (Ashlyn Stantz) Hulse, of Archbold, Nicholas and Brayden Hulse, both of Defiance; brother, Daryl (Ann) Patrick, of Cincinnati and half brother, Jeff Patrick, of Bryan. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild known as Angel.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, no visitation or services will be held at this time. A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date. Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan has been entrusted with her services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
