Kenneth E. Lyons, age 84, of Edon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at his home. Kenny was a 1958 graduate of Edon High School. He retired as a supervisor at Winzelor Stamping after 43 years of service. He and his wife had been foster parents for twenty-seven years. He was a member of the Edon United Methodist Church and as a young man drove trucks and helped farm. Kenny was a member the Florence Township Fire Department for 50 years, Edon Police Officer for 6 years, a Williams County Special Deputy for 6 years, EMT for 6 years and drove EMS beginning in 1978.
Kenneth E. Lyons was born on May 3, 1940, in Northwest Township near Cooney, Ohio, the son of Donald K. and Evelyn O. (Underwood) Lyons. He married his wife of fifty-nine years, Ruth A. Keller, on October 9, 1958, in Edon and she preceded him in death on January 12, 2018.
Kenny is survived by his daughter, Rebecca D. (Jim) Keesbury, of Montpelier, Ohio; two sons, Melmoth (Larry Osten) Lyons, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Martin (Kelli) Lyons, Avon, Indiana; one great-grandson, Hunter Smith; and a sister, Carolyn (Jim) Roesner, of Waldron, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth, one grandchild, Nathaniel Keesbury and one brother, Roger Lyons.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Edon United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Widdowson officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery.
Memorials are requested to the Florence Township Fire Department or to the Edon United Methodist Church.
