Kenneth F. “Dutch” Wonderly, 87

Kenneth F. “Dutch” Wonderly, 87 years, of Sherwood, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, surrounded by his family. Dutch was born September 24, 1928 in Sherwood, the son of the late Frederick and Louise (Kolb) Wonderly. He was a 1946 graduate of Mark Center High School. He was united in marriage to Madonna Wilhelm on October 20, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Paulding, Ohio, and she survives. Dutch was a life-long farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau Association. He was a lifelong member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, The Bend as its’ Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and an Associate Member of the Sherwood VFW Post 5665. Dutch was a devoted husband and father who thought the world of his family.

Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Madonna of Sherwood; five children, Albert (Kelly) Wonderly, Carol (Brian) Keegan and Chuck (Marsha) Wonderly, all of Sherwood; Daniel (Tanya) Wonderly of Farmer, and Mary (Jason) Wermer of Sherwood; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolores Jacob of Sherwood. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Arthur and Donald Wonderly.

Visitation for Kenneth F. Wonderly will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood where the Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Funeral services for Kenneth F. Wonderly will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 in St. Isidore Catholic Church, Marysdale, Defiance, with Father Robert Kill officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery, The Bend.
