Larry Chester Epling, born on August 19, 1953 in Barberton Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on November 29, 2024, in Montpelier, Ohio (Lake Seneca). A beloved member of the lake community, Larry leaves behind a legacy of love for fishing, country music, and his cherished family and friends.
Larry was a devoted father to his children, Ken (Ashley) Epling, Mike (Heather) Epling, Carrie Epling and April Epling-Hardy not to mention the ever present Tiffany Schilt and Larry’s look alike “Matt Matt”. He also was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and shared a special bond with his beloved Chihuahua, Maggie Mae.
He was preceded in death by his late wives, Janice Epling and Sue Baer Epling; his father, Harold Chester Epling; his brother, Harold Dean Epling and his mother, Mary Cooper-Epling.
Professionally, Larry dedicated his career to Ferro Corporation, retiring after years of committed service. His work ethic and dedication were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Larry’s life was a testament to the simple joys of nature, family, and friendship. His warm spirit and love for the natural world will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for fishing and gardening, pursuits that brought him tranquility and happiness. He spent countless hours on various lakes with his fishing buddies and cherished fishing at the local Eagles pond with his late wife, Janice. Larry was renowned for his fishing prowess, only outmatched by Janice. Fish feared him, while dogs and children adored him. Larry also formed lasting friendships with members of the Pioneer Legion.
Larry will be cremated at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. A Celebration of Life is being planned for January and will be announced on Facebook.
