Leonard B. Siebenaler, 88

Leonard B. Siebenaler, 88, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022.  He was born May 30, 1934, in Huntington, Indiana, the son of Bernard and Susan (Ruppert) Siebenaler.  He was a 1952 graduate of Hicksville High School, and a life-long farmer.  Leonard served with the U.S. Army from 1956 – 1958 in Germany.  On May 1, 1958, he married Anita Hoffelder in St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Bundenthal, Germany.  He is survived by his wife, Anita; two brothers-in-law in Germany; one sister-in-law in Switzerland; two sons, Michael (Christa) Siebenaler of Auburn, Indiana, and Joseph Siebenaler; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Leonard was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Hicksville Rotary Club, Defiance County Farm Bureau, Defiance County Soil Conservation District and the Tri-State German Club.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard, infant Bernard, and Eldon Siebenaler; and four sisters, Ethelinda Schiesser, Joann Pranger, Rita Roalofs, and Julianna Wilson.

Visitation for Leonard B. Siebenaler will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio.  Funeral services for Leonard will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 12:00 Noon with Father Daniel Borgelt officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Hicksville American Legion Post 223.

In honor of Leonard’s wishes, the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Defiance Humane Society, Fort Wayne Channel 39 PBS or to the Hicksville American Legion Post 223 Honor Detail.
