Lois V. Shafer, 94

Lois V. Shafer, 94 years, of Fort Wayne, and a former resident of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Brookdale Memory Care and Assisted Living Facility, in Fort Wayne, where she was a resident the past 16 years.  Lois was born June 13, 1925, in Holgate, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Esther (Meyer) Knapp.  She was a 1943 graduate of Holgate High School.  She married Robert L. Shafer on June 26, 1953, and he preceded her in death in 2004.  Lois was employed as a bank teller, and later as a bookkeeper for an office supply company.  Lois was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Holgate, Ohio.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and one younger sister.  Lois is survived by her good friend and guardian, Janus Tuttle of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

To honor Lois wishes, there will be no visitation or services.  She will be buried beside her husband in Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville.  Local arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hicksville.
