Louella M. Wonderly, 95, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Vancrest of Hicksville, where she was a resident. Louella was born June 13, 1926, in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Scott) Potter. She was a 1944 graduate of Hicksville High School. Louella married William “Kenny” Wonderly on January 6, 1946, in Hicksville, and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2014. Louella worked at Crook-Miller Handle Company and at the candy counter at the Hicksville Dime Store. She was a devoted wife and mother, caring for the needs of her family. Louella and Kenny were members of the Shriner’s Camper Club, as well as the Holiday Ramblers Camping Club. She enjoyed camping, caring for her yard, and treasured the time spent with her family.
Louella is survived by two grandchildren, Scott (Veronica) Wonderly of Burr Oak, Michigan, and Heidi (Brooks) Targgart of Fort Wayne, Indiana; six great-grandchildren, Nathan Wonderly, Zachary Wonderly, Alex Wonderly, Yan-Ting Liew, Justin Liew, and Hillary (Trey) Keller; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Knox Keller. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, William; son, Gary Wonderly; and daughter-in-law, Marcile Wonderly.
Visitation for Louella M. Wonderly will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, where a funeral service will follow beginning at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday with Pastor Dan Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville.
