Man is left with injuries after he crashes in DeKalb County Saturday night

A man is left with injuries after he crashes in DeKalb County Saturday night. Officials say that the Butler man was on US Highway 6, in the 5,600 block, when he crashed into a ditch. After that, the truck went about another 75 yards, hitting a utility pole, breaking it in half. The driver told officers that he was feeling tired and thinks he fell asleep at the wheel, causing him to go off the road. The driver was trapped in the truck and had to be extracted by local fire personnel. The man suffers a broken leg in the accident. State and local officials are handling the post-crash investigation at this hour.
