Maribel E. Feil-Duckworth, 93 years, of Bryan, and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan. Maribel was born May 18, 1923 in Ney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arl and Susie (Connelly) Garver. She was a 1941 graduate of Ney High School. She then attended Comptometer School. She married Otto G. Feil on August 4, 1951 in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death in 1983. She then married Earl H. Duckworth in Toledo, and he also preceded her in death in 2000. Maribel worked for General Motors – Hydra-Matic in Toledo in the Payroll Department. She also drove School Bus for Larc Lane Industries – Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She attended the Ney Church of God in Ney, Ohio, and after moving to Bryan, the First Church of Christ. While living in Toledo, she was a member of Pathway Community Church, where she was active in many capacities in the church. She was also a member of the Sweet Adeline’s. Maribel enjoyed music, whether it be playing the piano or singing. She also enjoyed reading a good book and working on puzzles. Maribel was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Preceded in death by both of her husbands, an infant son, Marvin Feil; two brothers, Mark and Don Garver; two sisters, Alice J. Sims and infant Arlene F. Garver. She is survived by one brother, Ned (Delores) Garver of Bryan, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Maribel will be held Sunday, July 31, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral service for Maribel will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2016 in the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Interment will follow in Ney Cemetery. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
