Marita Farris, age 77, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 2:20 A.M. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, near Defiance. Marita worked for Bryan Custom Plastics as a press operator prior to her retirement. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Born December 17, 1938 in Linz, Austria, Marita was the daughter of Ludwig and Herta (Meuller) Bitz. She married Charles Farris and he survives in Bryan. Marita is also survived by her son, Tom Roehrig, of Fayette; daughters, Sandra (Randy) Moody, of Osseo, Michigan and Jennifer (Todd) Mocherman, of Defiance; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Eric, Nicole and Marcus; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Elvira Hasse and brother, Joachem Bitz, both of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marlene Woelke, Wolfgang Bitz, Rosemary Benhamidi, Ludwig Bitz and Manfred Bitz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
