Martha J. Merritt, age 77 of Wauseon passed away late Sunday December 22, 2013 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Prior to her retirement she had worked for the former Peoples State Bank and then the Huntington Bank for a total of 35 years.
Mrs. Merritt was born on Mach 13, 1936 in Huntington, TN the daughter of the late John and the late Naomi (Jordon) Doeherty. On June 2, 1958 she married Norris Merritt and he survives. She was a member of Hope Christian Fellowship in Wauseon. She enjoyed spending time with her family and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons; Michael (Donita) Merritt of Steubenville, Ohio and Cris Merritt of Wauseon. Also surviving are three grandchildren and two sisters; Nancy (Ron) Grime and Sharon Dennis both of Wauseon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday December 27, 2013 at the Hope Christian Fellowship near Wauseon with Pastor Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 2:00-6:00pm. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.GrisierFH.com.
