Marvin Bauer, 82

Marvin E. Bauer, 82 years, of Bryan, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan.  Marvin was born July 24, 1933 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late William A. and Mary Ellen (Michael) Bauer. He was a 1952 graduate of Ney High School.  Marvin served our country in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict, receiving two medals for his service. On April 20, 1956 in Ney, Ohio he married his sweetheart Norma L. Rosendaul who carries on. A lifelong farmer, Marvin worked for Bryan Metals as a Mill Operator for many years.  He had also worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad and the former Herman Frank Lumber Yard in Stryker.  Marvin enjoyed being in the outside, whether farming, cutting firewood or working in his garden or orchard.  Marvin had a heart for helping people and helping them to get back on their feet going in the right directions.  He enjoyed playing cards, board games, and would do anything to spend time with his grandchildren, allowing them to do things that his children could not ever do.

Surviving is his wife, Norma L. Bauer of Bryan; three children, Leonard E. (Julie) Bauer of Bryan, Kenneth L. (Julie) Bauer of Polson, Montana and Jeffrey L. (Laurel) Bauer of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa) Bauer, Ellen Bauer, Zachary Bauer, Tegan Bauer, Morgan Bauer and Andrey Bauer; four brothers, Bill Bauer of Bryan, Burnell (Nancy) Bauer of Bryan, Phillip Bauer of Bryan, and Lauren Bauer of LaPorte, Indiana; one sister, Yvonne (Floyd) Smith of Utica, Michigan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vernon and George Bauer and three sisters, Marian Frank, Arlene Lloyd and Naomi Bauer.

Visitation for Marvin E. Bauer will be held Friday, November 27, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
