Matthew Todd Kunesh, age 62, passed away very suddenly on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Defiance on September 7, 1956, to surviving parents Harold and Nancy (Paxton) Kunesh. Matthew is also survived by his wife Tami (Good/Smith), daughter Elizabeth Fulcher, step-daughters Elizabeth Smith and Linzi Smith, step-son Jason Fruchey, sisters Laura Buchholz and Jane (John) Meyers, brothers Mark (Pam) Kunesh and Bruce Kunesh, and 11 grandchildren: Ashton Fulcher, Colten Fulcher, Micah Fulcher, Camden Boggess, Jose Vasquez Jr., Kristin Jones, Hunter Jones, Weston Jones, Summer Fruchey, Amberlyn Fruchey and Mischa Fruchey.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Agnes Kunesh and Jake and Pauline Paxton, two brothers Joseph and Steve and brother-in-law Ken Buchholz.
Matt was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick Men’s Prayer Group.
Matthew loved spending time with his wife of 16 years, and family, especially the grandkids to which he was lovingly known as ‘PawPaw’. Matt was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Matt loved music and was in several bands from the time he was 15 years old until age 45 when he retired his singing career. He loved his classic rock and made many friends during his time on the road in bands as well as working for Big Fish Sound Company.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8pm at Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold. Services will be held on Saturday, with mass beginning at 11am at St. Peter Catholic Church, Archbold, followed by burial at St. Isidore Marysdale in Ney, with luncheon after, back at St. Peter in Archbold.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or St. Peter Religious Education Program, Archbold. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
