Five of six area counties had unemployment rates above 4% in May, according to figures posted by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS).The lowest area county was Putnam at 3.5% followed by Paulding and Williams counties at 4.2% and 4.3%, respectively. The remaining three area counties (Defiance, Fulton and Henry) each registered rates of 4.6% in May. While most of these numbers were up when compared to April, Henry County’s was actually down slightly from 4.7%.
