Michael Casper, 62

Michael I. Casper, 62 years, of Bryan, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Michael was born March 4, 1953, in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late Charles E. and Pauline E. (Bake) Casper – Knorr.  He was a 1971 graduate of Antwerp High School.  Michael married Janice R. Bell on June 10, 1976 in Antwerp, Ohio, and she survives.  Michael was employed in the Maintenance Department at Edgerton Forge for 25 years.  After his retirement, Mike began driving truck, which he thoroughly enjoyed.  He retired due to a disability in 2008.  Michael attended Life Changing Realities Fellowship in Edgerton.  He enjoyed collecting model cars, and recently began attending mud bogs.  He treasured the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife Janice, Michael is survived by three children, Steven (Cheryl) Meredith of Bryan, Roxanne (Tommy) Spicer of Alexandria, Kentucky and Suzanne (Sammy) Taylor of Weston, West Virginia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brother, James Mattern of Bryan and his sister, Darla Ailiff also of Bryan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert A. Casper and two sisters, Teresa Mattern and Janet Mattern.

Visitation for Michael I. Casper will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 with Pastor Byron Adams officiating.  Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan.
