Michael Marvin, 65

Michael L. Marvin, 65 years, of Pioneer, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. Michael was born on July 3, 1950 in Bryan, Ohio to the late Oris “Bud” and Helen (Curran) Marvin. He was a 1969 graduate of Bryan High School. Michael served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, receiving a bronze star. He married Lucy J. Cramer on May 24, 1980 in Bryan, Ohio. He worked as a truck driver throughout his working career, most recently at Chambers Leasing. Michael also worked at Trufast, ARO, and as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Life Changing Realities Fellowship Church. Michael was very involved in Fountain City Regulator, American Legion Riders, R.A.W (Returned American Warriors), Pioneer VFW Post 8628 where he served as Commander, West Unity American Legion Post 669, Montpelier Moose Lodge, and the Patriot Guard. Michael was a very caring man always looking for ways to help people in any way he could. He loved spending time with his family and friends and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

In addition to his wife, Lucy, Michael is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Jamie) Legacy of Kunkle; three grandchildren, Johnathon Legacy (Athena) of Stryker, Jordan Legacy (Gabie) of Kunkle, and Chase Legacy (Raya) of Kunkle; two brothers, Steve (Sharon) Marvin of West Unity, and Perry (Brenda) Marvin of Hicksville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his “Honorary Sister” Rosie Gray of Bryan.  Michael was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Oris and Mary Marvin, and maternal grandparents, Roy and Iva Curran and “Honorary Brother” Willie Gray.

Visitation for Michael L. Marvin will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Life Changing Realities Fellowship Church, Angola Campus, 2201 North Wayne Street, Angola, Indiana, with Pastor Butch Rode officiating. Interment will follow in Kunkle Cemetery, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the West Unity American Legion Post #669.
