Michael “Mike” Floyd Britenriker, age 76, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away March 02, 2016 in University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, Tennessee. Mike was born in Stryker, Ohio on December 08, 1939 to the late E.J. and Grace (Dominique) Britenriker. He was a 1957 graduate of Stryker High School and then enlisted in the United States Army serving two years. In 1958 he was joined in holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Joyce Karnes and she survives. Michael and Joyce established their home in Stryker, Ohio starting a family farm and then continued on to establish Britenriker Construction, Inc. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Archbold, Ohio. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.
Mike and Joyce were blessed with three children, Kathryn (Bert) DeVeau, of Elizabethtown, Ky., Michael (Barbara) Britenriker, Stryker, Ohio, Dawn (Glenn) Swonger, of Tampa, Fla. Grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Cordes, Sara (Adam) Glore, Nicole Britenriker, Michael DeVeau, Ryan Britenriker, Kathryn DeVeau, Michael (Katelyn) Britenriker, Ronald Swonger, Jessica Swonger. Six great-grandchiuldren. He is also survived by his brothers, Eddie Joe (Phyllis) Britenriker and Rodney (Debbie) Britenriker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ben Britenriker and a grandchild, Stacey Jean Marie Britenriker.
Friends may call for public visitation, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 06, 2016 in Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold where the rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 07, 2016 in St. Peter Catholic Church, North Defiance Street, Archbold, Ohio. Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Friends may also call 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday in the church prior to the Liturgy Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Charity of donor’s preference or St. Peter Catholic Church or American Cancer Society or Hospice of donor’s preference.
