Mike Sherman, 52

Michael Scott “Mike” Sherman, age 52, of rural Delta, passed away Tuesday evening, July 2, 2013 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He had worked as a Mental Health Professional at Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon for over 18 years.

Mr. Sherman was born in Napoleon on November 6, 1960, the son of the late Lawrence C. and the late Joyce V. (Shoemaker) Sherman. On April 24, 1993 he married Candis “Candy” Barnes, and she survives. He was a 1979 graduate of Delta High School, where he had played football. He held at Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University, and had served in the U.S. Army. Mike attended Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon.

Surviving is his wife, Candy; one son, Logan Sherman; four brothers, Douglas (Charlene) Sherman of Lyons, MI, Rod Sherman of Defiance, Rich Sherman of Pioneer and Steve Sherman of Wauseon; and two sisters, Peggy (Chuck) Lesniewicz of Wauseon and Wendy (John) Glassen of LaPorte, IN. He was preceded in death by both parents and an infant sister, Beth Lynne Sherman.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in the Chapel at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon, where a Celebration of Mike’s Life will follow at 4:00 P.M.. Pastor Tyler Quillet will officiate. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to “family choice”. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
