Milferd Ray Baldwin, Jr., age 75, of West Unity, Ohio, died early on Saturday, May 25, 2013, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Baldwin was a 1955 graduate of Wauseon High School and joined the United States Air Force, serving in England for four years, where he met his first wife, Patricia Drummer. They were married on September 12, 1959, in Bedford, England. He worked for Dyler McDermott in Wauseon, Ohio, and then for A. T. & T. in West Unity, retiring in 1990. A member of Parents Without Partners, he served as membership director for three years.
Milferd Ray Baldwin, Jr. was born on June 10, 1937, in Fulton County, Ohio, the son of Milferd Ray and Anna (Raker) Baldwin. He married his second wife, Marlene (Koenig) Niese, on June 15, 1984, following the loss of his first wife, Patricia, and their daughter, Jaymie, in 1981, and she survives.
Survivors also include one son, Jon C. Baldwin, of Aurora, Colorado; two granddaughters, Taylor Anne and Jenna Wawersich; one great-grandson; five stepchildren, Rodney (Deb) Niese, and Leonard Niese, both of New Bavaria, Ohio, Victoria Niese, of Holgate, Ohio, Bernard (Cathy) Niese, of Continental, Ohio, and Jacqueline Schwab, of Arlington, Tennessee; several step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Fred, Richard, Donald, Charles, Henry and Wayne, and two sisters, Cora Mae Secondcost and Mary Lou Topps.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Father James Halleron officiating. Visitation will also be held in the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 A.M. Interment will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, Ohio, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489.
The family requests that any contributions be given to the research of Parkinson’s Disease, to St. Mary Catholic Church of Holgate, Ohio, or to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan.
