The Montpelier Exempted Village Schools Board of Education approved a new cellphone policy during its meeting this week. The policy, mandated by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, was based on research that shows cellphone usage among students causes problems with performance and mental health, according to the Governor. Exceptions include any student who needs it to monitor or address a health concern as long as the school board receives a written statement from the students physician, according to the policy.
