More Pool Problems For Defiance

In Defi­ance, flood­ing closed Kings­bury Park early last week, and along with it the pool. That’s the same pool that just opened for the sea­son only a few weeks ear­lier. IT was last Wednes­day when flood­wa­ters spilled into the pool.

After the flood waters receded, city work­ers began the cleanup work, hos­ing down and remov­ing the accu­mu­lated mud and pump­ing dirty water out of the pool. It’s the same pool that was dis­cov­ered leak­ing just after it was filled for the sum­mer. Now, before the pool is pumped full of clean water again, the city plans to take advan­tage of the oppor­tu­nity to exam­ine a 10-inch drain line beneath the pool with a cam­era to deter­mine where it’s leak­ing. The leak is caus­ing sub­stan­tial water loss. Although the pool remains closed, Kings­bury Park is open.
