MPD Wants A Dog

Montpelier Police wants a way to literally sniff out crime in order to take a bigger bite out of Williams County’s drug problem. The department is raising funds for the purchase of a K-9 unit, the training of an officer and the outfitting of a cruiser to facilitate travel with the animal. If successful, it would mark the first time the MPD has had a dog since the program was canceled 20 years ago.
