Nancy J. Speiser, 85

Nancy J. Speiser, 85, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Vancrest of Hicksville.  Nancy was born January 6, 1937, in Rockford, Illinois, daughter of the late Arlo and Adalaid (Derby) Fisher.  She was a 1955 graduate of Sherwood High School.  Nancy married James E. Speiser, Sr., on December 31, 1955, in Sherwood, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2019.  She worked at Landmark in Sherwood for over 30 years, retiring in 1997.  She was an active member of the County Cousins social club in Farmer, Ohio.  In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, going to casinos and spending time with her family.

Nancy is survived by one son, James (Gina) Speiser Jr. of Edgerton; one son-in-law, Melvin Adkins of Massillon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tarah Speiser, Cally (Charles) Martin, James Speiser III., Bretta (Travis) McAdams and Bree (Devin) Miller; six great-grandchildren, Vanessa Martin, Charlie Martin, Kayla McAdams, Otto McAdams, Piper Miller, and Theodore Speiser; seven siblings; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, James; and one daughter, Christina Adkins.

Visitation for Nancy J. Speiser will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood.  Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home starting at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Brian Stiver officiating.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
